On Friday, the European Union announced it’s opening an emergency maritime aid corridor from Cyprus to Gaza with allies including the US. The day prior, President Joe Biden announced the US Military is planning to build a temporary port along the Gaza coast to try to deliver much-needed humanitarian relief. In 2023, the nonprofit Islamic Relief raised more than $30 million in online donations during Ramadan, according to a spokesman for the organization. The charity, Human Appeal, has provided humanitarian relief in Gaza since 1991, according to Samina Taj, the organization’s associate director of communications. Since the start of the war in Gaza, Taj said their teams have mobilized to try to meet the desperate need for aid.

Aswin Siregar, spokesperson for the Densus 88 counter-terrorism taskforce, said the JAD militants were suspected of plotting attacks to disrupt Feb. 14 presidential and legislative elections. It relates to their main goal which is to cancel the election," he added without giving any more detail of the suspected plotting. However, security analysts say the militant threat has diminished significantly in recent years, largely because of successful security force operations.

"I think TikTok is super interesting," Jad Dayeh, a partner and the cohead of digital at WME, told Business Insider in a wide-ranging interview. Since the rise of digital media, WME has developed a department for influencers who are popular on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and now TikTok. Dayeh said WME spent a lot of time last year negotiating these "multimillion-dollar multiyear deals" for the gamers the company represents. WME also focused on securing partnerships between digital talent and major brands.
